A detailed blue and white scene depicts an imagined Asian landscape populated with figures in elaborate dress, exotic animals, and towering palm trees rendered in the crisp, illustrative style of 17th century Dutch pottery. The composition layers multiple narrative moments across the composition, with precise linework creating intricate patterns in clothing and architectural elements against a soft gray-blue ground. Crafted from bamboo and made to order, with a drilled hole so it hangs on the wall as easily as it works on the counter. A kitchen essential carrying an independent artist’s work, not a blank block from the big-box aisle.
