A detailed blue and white scene depicts an imagined Asian landscape populated with figures in elaborate dress, exotic animals, and towering palm trees rendered in the crisp, illustrative style of 17th century Dutch pottery. The composition layers multiple narrative moments across the composition, with precise linework creating intricate patterns in clothing and architectural elements against a soft gray-blue ground. Bound with 52 pages of 70lb paper, lined or unlined, behind an anti-scuff matte cover with wraparound artwork, made to order. Notes and sketches kept behind an independent artist’s work, not a plain composition cover.
