Two young women in pale, delicate gowns lean close together over a basket of roses, their faces softly illuminated against a dark, atmospheric background. The composition radiates intimacy and quiet melancholy, with warm flesh tones and muted rose pinks contrasting the shadowed surroundings, rendered in the lush, romantic style of Victorian academic painting. Bound with 52 pages of 70lb paper, lined or unlined, behind an anti-scuff matte cover with wraparound artwork, made to order. Notes and sketches kept behind an independent artist’s work, not a plain composition cover.
