The word “ART” appears in large, bold white capitals centered against a solid black rectangle, creating a stark, high-contrast composition that is both direct and ironic. The work’s minimalist approach and quotation marks around the word suggest a conceptual inquiry into what constitutes art itself, using typography as the primary medium. Bound with 52 pages of 70lb paper, lined or unlined, behind an anti-scuff matte cover with wraparound artwork, made to order. Notes and sketches kept behind an independent artist’s work, not a plain composition cover.
