A portly cat in human clothing decorates a towering Christmas tree while two smaller cats assist, surrounded by wrapped gifts and garland on a red patterned floor. The composition combines warm ochres and deep greens with touches of red, rendered in Wain’s characteristic whimsical illustration style that grants felines distinctly human expressions and domestic behaviors. Crafted from bamboo and made to order, with a drilled hole so it hangs on the wall as easily as it works on the counter. A kitchen essential carrying an independent artist’s work, not a blank block from the big-box aisle.
