Black and white birds transition seamlessly into fish in this optical illusion composition, with the creatures arranged in interlocking rows that flow from sky above into water below. Created through precise linear hatching and geometric tessellation, the work demonstrates how opposing forms can occupy the same space, challenging the viewer’s perception of figure and ground. At home in a study, library, or any space celebrating visual paradox and mathematical wonder. Printed to order on heavyweight matte paper at a petite 3-by-4 or 4-by-4 inches, with an optional poplar wood stand so it can sit upright on a desk or shelf. Small enough to fill the gap in a gallery wall or start a new one. Your first original, priced to collect more than one.
